Experience by Skill Sets
Strategic Planning
Developing a vision for learning and development begins by understanding the needs of the organization and the employees you inspire. I have experience in developing short-term strategic plans to address immediate needs, as well as long-term plans that ensure a continued commitment to learning that drives business success.
Team /Department Development
Hiring the right people, providing a united purpose, and giving employees the freedom to explore and expand their skill sets is the foundation for a successful department. I have had the opportunity to build four commercial training teams from the ground up with enormous success.
Conference Planning (e.g.: Sales Meetings)
Having spent the majority of my career developing highly skilled commercial teams, sales meetings, and conferences are second nature. Identifying a venue, hiring a production company, travel and hotel logistics, agenda development, general session management, evening events, training development, breakout rooms, budget creation and management...I've done it all.
Curriculum Design
One of my passions is reviewing all the available data and developing programs that increase performance, reduce time to proficiency, or result in a behavior that changes mindsets and improves organizational culture. My experience has allowed me the opportunity to develop many onboarding programs for new commercial team members as well as mentor programs that develop future leaders.
Instructional Design
Early in my career, I received my Masters Degree in Instructional design. It is the foundation of almost everything I do. However, I am not one to rigidly adhere to its strict guidelines or have cerebral discussions that make non-training audiences' eyes roll. Instead, instructional design is an innate guide that helps me navigate challenging situations. It's a process that shows me the path forward. I have used this knowledge for eLearning Storyboards, workshop design, and program development.
Development
Although most of my career has been at a Director / Sr. Director level, it was important to me to always maintain my training development skills using the most up-to date technology. Training development allows me to flex my creative side and will always be a passion of mine.
Project Management
The first few years out of college I worked as a Training Manager in a global IT department. I was responsible for the "people readiness" aspect of large-scale global software launches. Being in the IT department - they required all employees to have the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Although there are not many learning programs that rival the launch of enterprise software, I was able to pull aspects of this certification and apply it to the ADDIE model for training development.
